I remember Robin throwing out to the crowd Kiss solo album sleeves to the audience during Surrender. To me, every song was like the Beatles on steroids. They sound a whole lot heavier live than they do on record. I remember the house lights coming up when they were done and thinking, 'how in the fuck do you top that?'īut you know what? Cheap Trick came out and were just as good. Everytime they started playing it felt like being pugged into an electric current. I had never heard of these guys so of course I didn't know any of the songs but every song they played was awesome. We stood in slippery puke for the rest of the show. He wanted to stay but I think concern eventually won out and he took her out of there but it was awhile before he did. It's the girl, she's in the same position but now she's puking, all over boyfriend and all over me. A few minutes later I start to feel something wet hitting my arm. Next time I looked over she was passed out but she had turned around to cling to his neck. She had her back to him and he had his arms around her waist. I remember a guy and girl initially standing next to us. I think everyone that night witnessed something extraordinary.

I didn't see him at first, I had to keep dodging bigger people but when I did my eyes wanted to focus on him. I was completely captivated until Bon started singing. He was running up and down the stage and I was darting left and right just trying to keep my eyes on him. When it kicked in, the lights, the band, the air, all became electric and all hell broke loose. If you know the song, the guitar strums and then kicks in. It's Live Wire and a single spotlight hits Angus above the drums. Even though we were kind of short he led the way into the crowd till we got about 10 feet in front of the center of stage. Up till then, I would always look for a spot away from the stage. Dropped off by his parents to be picked up after. My friend and I, both middle schoolers went to this alone. Some band I'd never heard of before called AC/DC. I remember seeing the ad in the paper beforehand and seeing the band that was going to open. It was my 2nd full day of being 14 when me and my friend went to see Cheap Trick on the Live At Budokan tour.
